Cardinal Health manufactured the first spirometers to use a turbine, meaning they had increased accuracy in the field, being unaffected by air pressure, humidity and temperature and can therefore be used anywhere in the world with an unadjusted calibration. Along with company certification to ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485 and other awards, Micro Medical spirometers were chosen for numerous expeditions such as the British Territorial Army expedition to Greenland in 1997, A British Mount Everest expedition in 1994 and an expedition to Kangchenjunga in 1998. Their medical equipment continues to be the reliable choice, for precise readings and portability in the field.
